Product Description

The most popular mountain biking system on the market just got better. The redesigned M.U.L.E. hydration/cargo pack offers the ultimate blend of features, with a well-organized overflow cargo system, a weather-resistant MP3 pocket, and a 3-liter liquid capacity that keeps you hydrated for more than three hours on the trail. The pack is notably comfortable thanks to the removable waist belt and dynamic suspension harness, which maximize load stability. The Air Director back panel, meanwhile, delivers enhanced ventilation on hot days--a must for hard-core bikers who want to maintain their high energy level.

Add in such bonuses as a secure 540-cubic-inch cargo pocket with an internal organizer, a durable splash guard that protects the pack from mud and abrasion, and reflective details that help you stay visible in low-light conditions and you have a great pack for virtually any mountain biking scenario (and a few non-biking situations as well). The pack by which all others are judged, the M.U.L.E. is backed by a two-year warranty (with a lifetime warranty on the Omega reservoir).

About CamelBak
CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits.

In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak’s state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

OK, you could get a $20 Hydration Pack from Wal-Mart but why? I picked up my Camelbak M.U.L.E for $60 ($25 cheaper than MSRP). Chalk one up for Amazon!
The M.U.L.E is a great all around pack the holds 3 liters of water. You may think that 3 liters of water is too much, it will add extra weight, etc. Good news is you don't have to fill it up all the way all the time! I have used the pack for mountain biking, 4 wheeling and hiking so far and see endless possibilities. The pack is very customizable between the straps, clips and pockets. Pockets are very generous in size but do not add much extra size and weight to the pack. It looks big in the picture but is not that bad. The pictures show the pack totally stuffed with supplies but if you are just using it for water, spare bike tube, a multitool and a hat, it sits very flat on the back. The water reservoir is very tough and is warrantied for life.

Please don't go generic! Trust Camelbak.
Everything I need and more in portable hydration.

This is yet another great product by CamelBak. The 100oz bladder gives me plenty of water to stay outdoors and active for most of the day, and there is enough room in the pouches to toss in a small book, some energy bars, sunscreen, cell phone, et cetera, as well as a dedicated pouch for an MP3 player with a padded and water resistant outlet for headphones. Basically, this pack is large enough to fit plenty in for a day trip outdoors, but small enough to not be cumbersome or annoying to lug around.

This pack is also extremely comfortable to wear. The shoulder straps are padded, adjustable, and ergonomically designed, narrowing at the base of the neck then curving out wider around the chest and ending at the base of the pack where it connects to a wide mesh support that wraps around your hips. The back is also padded and meshed, with grooves to allow airflow so that your back does not sweat as much while wearing it. There are also several straps on the pack (some of which are removable, in case they get on your nerves) that make it possible to stream-line the storage areas if you are not carrying much with you.

Overall, this is a great product, and a valuable asset for anyone who enjoys being actve outdoors.
Great!!!

Reviewer: Shagui,
My third Camelback and I'm still finding the best quality in all of them . Enough for a short bike trip with the exactly room for your stuff, Digital Camera, Granola bars, pocket Knife, a light rain coat
and 3 Lt of water Can I need to say more?

The straps make their job, also you can adjust the chest straps not only the lenght also up and down. And you can remove the hip straps. In the top it has a special soft compartment for your Ipod with special zipper ....
I'm very happy with it
Great Pack, no complaints

I've been using this pack at least once every weekend since I bought it (have used it at least 25 times).

It is compact enough to not get in the way when I'm scrambling through brush.

It has enough internal storage to keep 8 protein bars, sun glasses, camera, phone, keys, compass, knife, bandages, sun hat, wallet, guide book, and a full 100oz water bladder. And I wouldn't say it is "full", if I had more I wanted I could take it along.

It has straps on the outside, which I use to hold my large shell (in Seattle, you cannot predict the rain or the temperature).

It is strong enough that I've dropped it plenty of times onto rocks, pulled it through bushes / trees, and don't see any signs of wear & tear yet.

Great pack, exactly what I was looking for, I've taken 8 hour hikes with it without a problem, and without wishing for anything more.
Works like a Charm

Got this to use while I snowboard. Works great. Occasionally the tube freezes but only when it is very cold, so that is understandable. Very strong, no leaks, doesn't burst even if you land flat on your back. Great sturdy strong product!
